I Love Monet and Klimt

My love for Claude Monet’s paintings was born when I first visited the Musée Marmottan in Paris.

Did you know that this museum built a special exhibit space for the Monet collection in a lower level of the museum?

Seeing the famous water lilies covering the walls of this museum was an outstanding experience that I will never forget!

The more I gazed, the more I was as if hypnotized.

Taking time to enjoy the beauty and serenity of these paintings, walking from one painting to the other, discovering new details in these almost abstract masterpieces,  being surrounded by a blue universe  is something you must absolutely do, when you go to Paris.

To complete this enchanting trip, I strongly recommend visiting Giverny’s garden, where Monet found his inspiration and could express himself as a real genius.

The garden of roses, the pond and the Japanese bridge, everything looks unchanged from his time there.

Consequently, it’s no wonder that I selected for Your French Gift different items which evoke these amazing memories!

Silk scarves, faience tableware, hand-carved puzzles, tablecloths, runners and pillows, even hair clips are my own tribute to Monet and Giverny!

My love for Gustav Klimt’s paintings was also born thanks to a visit to a museum.

A few years ago, I was in Vienna, Austria, and I decided to go to the Belvedere Palace, to see Klimt’s famous “Kiss”.

Although this painting is well-known, I wasn’t prepared to have such a shock when I saw The Kiss in real life. Its beauty was breathtaking.

And so, again, my selection for Your French Gift has been highly influenced by my personal attachment to Klimt’s work.

You won’t be surprised to know that I sell silk ties and scarves bearing the famous pattern from his painting The Tree of Life.
